Flashback Arrestor Bodies and Assemblies are available for special applications. Flashback Arrestor Bodies consist of 1/4" F and 1/4" M NPT connections. Assemblies for Adapters and Pigtails consist of standard CGA connections on both the inlet and outlet sides of a Flashback Arrestor Body. Western also offers assemblies with ball seat check valves for the inlet side of the Flashback Arrestor Body.Flashback Arrestor Bodies extinguish flashes or flames before they reach the cylinder. Flashback Arrestor Assemblies are designed for installation on acetylene cylinders to prevent flashbacks into the cylinder.

Flashback Arrestor Bodies and Assemblies are available for special applications. Flashback Arrestor Bodies consist of 1/4" F and 1/4" M NPT connections. Additional Information These Flashback Arrestor Bodies/Assemblies can be used in any leads not exceeding 3/8" pipe size which connects an acetylene cylinder to a regulator, manifold or other equipment. These units are factory assembled and 100% tested.

Note Using Flashback Arrestors with Check Valves as a precaution to avoid potentially dangerous situations is not a substitute for careful handling or strict adherence to safety rules and procedures for handling high pressure gases. Users should not tamper with the internal components of a Flashback Arrestor. Flashback Arrestors cannot be cleaned or refilled after any flash in the system. They must be replaced if the pressure drop through the Arrestor reaches 10 PSIG or more at a rated capacity of 40 SCFH.
